Unite to boost education scenario: CS

PACHIN, June 29: Terming school as temple of learning, chief secretary Satya Gopal on Saturday exhorted all stakeholders to make concerted efforts to bring desired improvement education scenario of Arunachal Pradesh.

Addressing a function after inaugurating administrative and hostel blocks of Abotani Vidya Niketan (AVN) here, he said that this institution has been witnessing success stories including preservation of age-old indigenous traditions and cultures and enlisted contributions of Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti (ASVS), which run the institution. He along with the team of officers earlier inspected the campus, including boys and girls hostel.

‘Team Arunachal’ led by young Chief Minister Pema Khandu is committed to provide quality education, he said with conviction and highlighted several GoAP initiatives, like holding state pre-board examination, establishing Sainik School in Niglok, JNV, VKV, engineering college etc to achieve the goal. He advised the students work hard with patience and discipline for success to embrace you as hard labour is the key.

This first AVN was set up in 1994 before it expanded to around 36 schools in 11 district of state, said state ASVS coordinator MN Chaturvedi. Rs one crore was given for extension of two rooms each in five institutions in 2016 followed by 5 crore in 2018 of which Rs 1.2 crore was allocated to this school, he dicsloed.

While sharing his experience, Akhil Bharati Siksha Sansthan secretary Brahma Rao advocated collective responsibilities for nation building to move in right direction. The ASVS initiative began in 1951 resulting in functioning of 13,000 schools and 12,000 Ekal Vidyalaya across the country with around 1.5 teachers now to impart education to more than 30 lakh students, he added.

AVN chairman Tai Tagak and ASVS secretary Nabam Ruja also address the gathering including RSS state pracharak Sunil Mohanty, Jalley Sonam, officers, local leaders, local resident and their parents.
